‘To the days I could walk through the house in the dark and find my children asleep in their beds to wish them a good night’.
There are of course many people to thank after starting a venture such as writing a novel and in this case probably more than I can remember but I have to mention the following people without whose help I would have stranded hopelessly.
'Son upon Tine' is dedicated to Deborah, an amazing woman to live with and who tirelessly did the first corrections, my 3 children Luc, Mart and Tim, my Mum, Ian ( I build my own instruments) Mackenzie, the Kirby’s and the Flanagan's who made me feel most welcome during my relative short stay in the UK and Ingrid, my sister, for having been left out in a previous book.
Mr. Michel Berthier and Dana Berthier in the USA who meticulously edited, suggested subtle changes and encouraged me throughout the whole process. Thanks for all the work you have both put in and most of all, for never using an Americanism in the very English text. Viva la France!
Mr. Carter Kaplan from the USA who introduced me to serious writing by 'plonking' me on the board of Editorial Advisers with International Authors then came to visit me and took me to attend a meeting with A.I. in London. http://www.internationalauthors.info
Pauline Vilain, my literary agent, who read the manuscript and signed me up straight away.
Mr. Chivers and Mr. Partidge for making me realise I am not the only nutcase around.
Janet Tiltman who made it so much easier to move to Spain and has forgiven me for not cooking a Dutch apple cake when I promised to do so. I'll do that as soon as I've finished the next two books.
Vitasta Raina from India, whose novel 'Writers Block' I read before it was published as I did Elkie Richards (GB) work which made me very aware that it isn't easy to write something worth reading.
Joris van Loon in The Netherlands for taking care of my painting business whilst never knowing I was writing a novel, never mind a trilogy. We must get together again soon and have a glass of wine here in Spain.
Hans and Bernadette Prein for being Hans and Bernadette Prein and the countless hours of fun we had in Germany.
Last but not least Antoine Meijer and Theo Soontiens for being friends far away from here.
